Guest Book

As a family of 17 we were worried about lack of space but were more than happy with each of the three cottages we stayed in. Our group ages ranged from 4 years old to 82 and its safe to say there was something for everyone! The cottages are all so well equipped and clean it made our visit stress free and relaxing.  The village of Ingleton was great and there was always so much to do that we could have stayed a month and found something new to do everyday!  We really enjoyed the outdoor pool in the village, great for families, and also the waterfall walk made for a great (tiring!) day out!!  We enjoyed a day in Kirkby Lonsdale by the river, visited a Zoo in Cumbria and went to the Whitescar Caves also nearby!  There was plenty of places to eat and drink and also a BBQ was made available to us at the cottage.  The owners were very helpful and friendly and the use of an xbox, new dvds and toys were readily available to use...great for entertaining the children on a rainy day!  Having 4 dogs with us there was also plenty of scenic walks in the area-ideal! We were lucky to have great weather the week of our stay and the outdoor patio areas were great for enjoying a nice glass of wine or watching the children play!  Overall we all enjoyed a fantastic holiday and cannot recommend Beechtree Cottages enough.  Thank you once again. Kind Regards The Palmers x Aug 2010

If your anything like us then Ingleton is a great location for getting out and about and doing things. In the last week we Rowed on Windermere, Cycled in Gisburn Forest and visited Blackpool and Morcambe. Ingleton was excellent (Swimming pool, Climbing walls, Big kids playground, Friendly pubs) its good to have a great day out then a nice meal out in the evening, and this brings me onto the cottages , they are in a great location and only a 10 minute pavemented stroll to the village which means you can have a glass or two of wine and not worry about having to drive. The standard of the accommodation is Excellent and very clean, there was nothing that we needed that wasn't there, they have a reception full of kids toys, games, computer games, DVD's etc and its all free to use and you just basically help yourself which was great as we have 2 children under 10. Its good to go to a place and have all the extra's for free, We only met the manager once when we moved in, she was very friendly and after making sure we were okay just left us to get on with our holiday. We will be back in the future and we don't often return to the same place. Sally, Dave, Josh, Alice from Wales - July 2010

This was our second visit to Beechtree Cottages , we came here with friends in April and stayed in Willow cottage , we returned by ourselves and stayed in Hornbeam Cottage , Both cottages are fantastically set out and really are 4 star in both the furnishings and contents, The cottages are spotless and modern and have lots of charm and character at the same time, we really loved the log burning stove at the end of a long day of activities. The owners were very helpful and made sure we were happy with everything and supplied us with some free maps of the area. There was free Wifi in both cottages and it ran at 6mb which we don't get at home. Things you shouldn't miss are the waterfalls walk, cycling in Gisburn forest and the hospitality of the local pubs, are favorite was the Weatsheaf which did great evening meals at reasonable prices. We will return hopefully in Winter, would be great to see the dales in snow. Hope this is of help to anyone planning a stay here. John & Diane Williams 29th June 2010

Had a fantastic time at Beech tree cottages , well deserving of the English Tourist Board Gold award. Everthing spotless and very well equiped. Very helpfull and informative owners, even storage for bikes and a decreet dog area. Fantastic location 10 mins walk into the villages so we could all enjoy the very good local beers after a full day on the hills. Ingleton is a lovely village with plenty of places to eat and the swimming pool is just excellent (on a sunny day,) Thanks for a very good holiday home from home. We will be back . Angela, James and family 28th June 2010

I would just like to say how much we enjoyed our stay in Hornbeam cottage last week. In fact the whole holiday was most enjoyable, helped by the good weather, albeit somewhat cold at times, and the magnificent scenery in the area. We managed to get some walking in, and having a nice warm comfortable cottage to come back to rounded off each day very nicely.
Thank you, and hopefully we may see you again in the near future. Kind regards Janet and Bob Bullar - April 2010

I had a great time at Oak Cottage, it was lovely. This is one of the best holidays ever. The beds were so soft and me and my dad loved the fireplace. We went on the waterfall walk -fun. We went in the caves. It was sunny so we could do stuff outside. We liked the office because we could get DVD's and play on the computer. When we are here we look out the window and see fields and sheep. We walked in a field at night and got lost on the way here but, I don't want to go home. One thing I do want to go home for is our kittens (fifi and Cleo) and are bunny's (Flopsey and Rosie) and the fish as well. My Grandma is here with us at Willow Cottage with her dog called Butch.(A little terrier) We went to Pottery Place, I did Disney Characters, Once again we don't want to leave thankyou for a good Holiday, From Katie Henshall Age 9 - Easter 2010 - (One of the best letters left for us - Kids have a great way of saying what they see and feel, - Sharon)

Great place, really enjoyed the cottage , very clean and well maintained, Friendly welcome and hassel free, took less than 5 minutes from parking up to getting in the cottage and having a cup of tea.. Free Wifi was usefull as I needed to keep in contact with work. The bed was comfy and warm and a lot better quality than a lot of hotels. Good DVD and games library all free to use which is what you want when you have kids. Took about 10 minutes to walk into Ingleton and if you walked in the other direction and turned right at the Country Harvest then first left you stumble upon a fantastic little country pub called the Martin Arms, also about 10 mins walk away which was just enough but, not too much after a good meal and a few drinks. Ingleton is a wonderful little Dales village but not too small that theres nothing there, we counted 5 pubs, a small Italian Restaurant, numerous cafes and shops and a good old chip shop! Theres 2 Co-ops a good butchers and 10 mins in the car and you get to a supermarket called Booths which is like Sainsburys. Don't leave without walking around the waterfalls walk, I'm not fit but, managed it with no problem. Will return again and would reccomend the place to my friends and family, I hope this info has been of some help. Adam Wall & Family - And Pip the Dog, March 2010

Our 2nd stay in Hornbeam cottage and will definitely be back soon. Lovely cottage, very welcome with everything we needed set in the perfect location. See you in the near future. Stuart and Jenny. xx March 2010

What a great place to stay - We had a great weekend at Beechtree's, After doing the 3 peaks challange the cottage was a very welcome sight for the weary legs. When I booked I was'nt sure what to expect as I was responsible for all my friends but, I need'nt have been worried, a great welcome, a very speedy introduction and we were away. We ordered ready cooked local dishes that were waiting for us each night so no hassel having to cook. The standard or the accomodation was excellant, the beds very comfy, the place spotless and modern, I could'nt reccomend it enough, Many thanks for your hospitallity. John & friends - Manchester - March 2010

Having never been away over Christmas before I was a little anxious how it would turn out. I needn't have worried, beechtree cottages were all they said they were and more. Luxury cottages with everything you would need for a trouble free stay but with the addition of friendly hosts making sure your stay was perfect. We loved the wood burner.
Many thanks from the Young family and Syke the puppy. Cherry Cottage Christmas 09

This email is to thank you for a warm and enjoyable stay at Oak Cottage, even with all the snow, we had a lovely week.  The standard of the cottage was better than expected, modern, clean and very well equipped, one of the best cottages we have stayed in.  The Christmas decorations were a treat and made the cottage homely.  This is one of the first cottages we would highly recommend.  We found the hospitality of the owners warm and welcoming.  A 10 minute walk into the village centre, we had a lovely meal at the Craven Heifer. We are looking forward to our stay in August.

Thanks again

Just a lttle note to say "Thank You" for a lovely holiday. We really felt comfortable & cosy in your cottage. It was well equiped and the nicest holiday cottage we have ever been in, very clean as well. We traveled for miles exploring and had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Usually we go to a few pubs or restaurants while we are on holiday but, because the cottage was so lovely, we just came back , put the fire on cracked open the wine and relaxed in comfort.. Perfect...!!! Thanks again and hope to see you again one day. The Connolly Family from Norfolk - Oct 08

We just wanted to say a big thank you. We had a lovely time at beech tree cottages and could not fault anything with our stay. We will definitely be booking again for later in the year, hoping with some friends as well. Thanks, Sophie & Dan. April 08.

The Cottage was fantastic, We've stayed in many over the years and have been disapointed from time to time but, we could not fault anything at Beechtrees. You really had thought of everything, Ingleton was great and and the kids loved it. We had some brillient days out and the kids really loved feeding the animals at Docker park farm My daughter really loved the pot bellied pigs and wanted to take one home, we could'nt belive that they just run around with you. Again Many Thanks! Hope to see you in the summer. Jane Doyle - April 08

We loved comming back to the cottage after a full days walking and lighting up the Log Stove, Was nice to sit and watch the flames flicker whilst enjoying a few glasses of wine, the cottage was beautiful and well equipted and in a good position to have a few nights out without driving. Hope to see you in the future. Dave & Ann - April 08

A huge thank you for our stay at Willow cottage throughout the Christmas period. We cannot fault the accommodation at all. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there with everything we needed and more. The quality of the cottage was second to none and so warm which was a blessing for this time of the year. We won't hesitate to come back and stay again and we are spreading the word to all our family and friends about it too. Once again thank you and especially to Sharon for the mayonnaise!!!!!! You were a life saver x Michelle Browne Chrsitmas 2007

We would all like to say a huge thank you for our great weekend staying at the Beechtree Cottages. We loved Ingleton and the area but what made the weekend really was the high standard of the accomodation. The cottages were delightful so much so we opted to ‘stay in' both nights of our visit!! Thank you so much for all the little luxuries like the tea, coffee, milk and biscuits – and a dishwasher!! - Kirsty Beresford - April 07

Under British common standard for self catering all 6 Beech Tree Cottages achieve a very stong FOUR star rating. Alan Greenhalgh - Assesment Inspector for Quality in Tourism - Jan 2007 - Offical Report Findings

We have just returned home from our stay at Beech Tree cottages, the cottages were fabulous. They were spacious, very well equipped, warm and very clean, in fact we had no complaints what so ever. We hope to return next year at about the same time. Thank you very much for making our stay so comfortable. Sarah Wilson and family - Jan 2007

We had a really fab time and although the weather was awful it made SUCH a difference knowing we could go back to the cottage and spend lots of time there in comfort, with the burner going and the christmas tree and everything. We had a truly lovely time. Samantha Atherton - Christmas 2006

Just to thank you as we all enjoyed our weekend stay at Beechtree Cottages. The cottage was lovely and you have accommodated for every need to a very high standard. It was just like 'home from home', especially as your bed linen is the same as mine! Great location and fabulous countryside on the door step and the added bonus of the firework display on the Saturday night added to the fun! Your website does justice to the cottages and also really informative.

Have already recommended the cottages to friends and I hope we'lll be back for another stay in the future. Thanks once again. Caroline Todd - November 2006
